FEEDING HUNGRY CHILDREN IN VENEZUELA

Greetings from South America,

I am writing today to invite you to partner with us in support of Project Joseph, an alliance of organizations working to feed children and elderly in Venezuela. You can be a part of this lifesaving work by making a year-end gift that will support El Cordero Church, Strong Tower Church, Foundation Reskate, and New Horizons Foundation. These organizations work in Central Venezuela.

In November members of El Cordero Church were busily inviting neighborhood children to the church for breakfast. A mother asked if her 10-month-old baby could be fed also because she had no food in the house. So the children and mother were fed that morning. On Sunday morning she brought her children to the church and stayed for Worship. She had an eternal life-changing experience that morning as she met Jesus for the first time. Praise God! Project Joseph shares food and the Gospel!

The economic and humanitarian crisis continues to worsen in Venezuela. Ministries are having a difficult time because the price of food increases almost daily due to inflation which is now over 2000% and the problem worsens as the money loses value. Our ministry helps our Venezuelan brothers in their efforts with the aim to expand the programs. But we find that even maintaining the programs has become a challenge.

We are determined to continue the programs and expand to feed more children and elderly people. Our goal of $2500 will help to meet both goals in 2018. A one-time year-end gift will be a great blessing and will yield eternal results. You can help by giving Online by credit card at www.razoo.com/story/projectjoseph. I have used the Razoo system many times and found it to be safe and easy to use. If you prefer you may give by check made out to Love to the World. In Christ,

John Powell

SAVE A CHILD. REACH A FAMILY!

Blessings in Jesus' Name,
I love sharing testimonies of God's Grace and Goodness. I also enjoy saying "Thanks" to you for praying and supporting our ministry.  Today I can do both with one message.
We have opened several feeding programs to meet the increasing disaster of hunger and starvation that has engulfed Venezuela. Recently we partnered with Iglesia El Cordero in Calabozo. We provide money and other resources to help the church with the program. It was in this program that we saw God work so wondrously last weekend.
A team of workers was in the neighborhood gathering children for Saturday lunch. One mother asked if her 10-month-old baby girl could go also. Normally only 2 y.o. and above attend. She said she had no food in the house and that she would go to care for the baby and feed her; thus not tying up the volunteer staff. Of course, they said yes and mother, the baby, and the 3 y.o. were fed. The 3 y.o. "attacked" his food and made up for missed meals. It is satisfying for all of us to be able to help people in this time of need.
The story goes on! On Sunday morning the mother and the children were in church. At the end of the church service, she went forward to ask Jesus into her heart. Praise God! SAVE A CHILD AND REACH A FAMILY!
It is because of our supporters who pray and give.....and soon will have the opportunity to go with us on mission projects..... that we are able to serve our Savior and make sure others meet HIM.
The director of the El Cordero Feeding Program? She is Patricia Veloz, Elsa's sister! Starting in January she will be working full-time with us as we labor together to establish more programs in other churches.
Our desire is to be good soil for every gift you sow into our ministry and be available to do everything God asks of us.
Blessings,
The Powell Family

MOTIVATION AND EXPECTATION

                       MOTIVATION

What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the [b]open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?" Luke 15:4
Yusdaly is a young Venezuela girl now living in Bogota. She graduated as an architect as the number 2 student in her Venezuelan University..... Number 8 in the entire nation. She now sells coffee on the streets of Bogota and lives with a Colombian family. She lives in a very desperate situation and she doesn't know Jesus. We helped her to get the equipment she needed to sell the coffee. She now comes to our house for Bible study and prayer. Our motivation has to be to reach one. She is worth all of our efforts. When Yusdaly knows Jesus as Lord and Savior we will celebrate and then...... look for another LOST SHEEP!

                                                           EXPECTATION

Then He *said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful,"
Matthew 9:37
The Yukpa people live on the Colombia/Venezuela border. They are an Indigenous group of people living under very difficult circumstances. Many are affected by malnutrition and starvation along with disease.  Teams from Calabozo have been going to work with the Yukpa and present the Gospel. The Chief is now a believer and many are turning to Christ. In October we helped to arrange a team outreach with food and medicine. Dr. Orliany and others traveled several days each way to spend a week ministering to them. The harvest is plentiful among the Yukpa and other Indigenous people in Venezuela and Colombia. Our expectation is to reach many with the Gospel

                                THANKS

Our motivation is to do everything that needs to be done to reach a sinner with the Gospel. Time and effort are well spent searching for a lost sheep. But when someone comes to the Lord they are then part of the 99. And so we go again to look for someone who needs Jesus. While we are motivated for one, we expect a large harvest. We are expecting to regularly share with you great victories of the salvation of individuals but also publish reports of tribes, people groups, and regions turning to Jesus. That is why we are here and we do what we do. You share in these victories as you pray and give. Without you, it simply isn't possible!

POWELL FAMILY IN BOGOTA

SEPTEMBER 2017
We are so happy to have a church home in Bogota - Iglesia Cristiana Colombia. The church was founded by an American missionary and it has grown to over a thousand people. Great services and great teaching.

Gaby met and made a friend..... and now we have an apartment to rent. God is so good but works in some pretty strange ways at times. The apartment is beautiful and is in a very safe area of the city. Soon we will call it home. The young lady is Daniela. She's on our prayer list to know Jesus soon!!

We have accepted the challenge of ministering to Venezuelans who have immigrated to Colombia. There are more than 1 Million Venezuelans here. Many have no place to stay and are barely surviving. VENSTRA, which stands for Venezuela Strategy, is one of our ministries focused on work in Venezuela. But how can we ignore a million of our fellow countrymen here in Colombia? We visited a bus terminal recently and shared food and the Gospel.

NEWS
Praise God! John just received word that his residency visa has been approved by Colombia Immigration. Elsa and Gaby already have residency cards.
Team20? That's the name for our revamped and re-established short term team ministry. We are inviting everyone interested in being a part of one of our projects to let John know. Obviously, we will have projects in Colombia in 2018 but also we have opportunities in Ecuador and, by faith, in a reborn Venezuela.

PRAYER
We continue to pray for family, friends, and our supporters in areas impacted by Hurricane Irma.

THANKS
We appreciate each of you who give and pray in order for us to be on the mission field. We are busy working to tell others about.... Jesus!!

BLESSINGS!
John, Elsa, and Gaby Powell
